Ladies and gentlemen, beloved members of Unison Church, family, and friends, As I stand before you today, I want to take a moment to share my journey, my passions, and what drives me to serve this vibrant community as your pastor. My name is Abby, and I am truly humbled and blessed to be part of your lives and to walk alongside you in our shared faith. From a young age, I felt a calling—an unmistakable nudge from God that urged me to serve, to love, and to lead. Growing up, I was surrounded by stories of faith, hope, and resilience. My family instilled in me the values of compassion, integrity, and the importance of standing up for what is right. Whether it was through community service, engaging in youth programs, or simply being present for those in their times of need, I learned that a passionate spirit, rooted in faith, can light the way for others. As I stepped into the role of pastor, I did so with a heart full of commitment to serve every single one of you—the congregation of Unison Church. I understand that serving a diverse community comes with unique challenges and opportunities. Each and every one of you brings your own story, perspective, and experiences to our church. This is a strength, not a weakness. Being a great pastor, in my view, involves listening deeply and leading with love. It’s about nurturing relationships and creating an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. My mission is to foster a community where individuals can experience genuine connection, grow in their faith, and feel empowered to make a difference in the world around them. In our time together, I have been inspired by your resilience, your faithfulness, and your willingness to serve. Together, we have celebrated milestones, mourned losses, and navigated challenges—each moment has strengthened our bond as a community. I strive to create spaces where these stories can be shared, where joy can be amplified, and where hope can flourish. Our church is not just a building; it’s a living testament to the love, grace, and support that exists among us. Another vital aspect of my role as your pastor is teaching and guiding through the wisdom found in scripture. I believe that God’s Word has the power to transform lives, and it is my commitment to explore these timeless truths with you, to help you apply them to your everyday life, and to inspire you to develop a deeper relationship with God. As we delve into the scriptures together, I hope to spark curiosity and wonder in your hearts, to encourage you to ask questions, and to seek your own understanding of God’s love and purpose. Furthermore, I recognize the importance of outreach and service beyond the walls of our church. We are called to be the hands and feet of Christ in our communities, to reach out to those who are marginalized, hurting, or in need. I believe that as we serve others—whether through food drives, volunteering at local shelters, or simply being there for our neighbors—we embody the very essence of Christ’s love. It is through these acts that we demonstrate our faith in action and show the world what it means to be a part of the Unison family.
